Capsicum annuum

The name "annuum" comes from the term "annual", which is actually incorrect as all Capsicums species are perennials.
Capsicum annuums are the most widely cultivated chile pepper species in the world.

Includes the common varieties like "Jalapeño", "Cayenne", "New Mexican" and many others, like the nonpungent bell peppers and wild Tepins.

Even they're most the cultivated plants, I wouldn't recommend these as a first choice for a grower, at least not for indoor growing as in common, they aren't very resistant to pests, diseases and extreme conditions except for the wild and ornamental varieties of C. annuum
